Sintra Manor House – Indoor Surface Area : 900 m2; Garden: 6000m2
Sintra Manor House is located in the Estefânia area (centre of Sintra), less than one kilometre away from the magnificient historic centre. The chalet has four stories and is located in a lovely private property with a swimming pool and an amazing garden with secular trees and plentiful tropical species. The manoir, from the beginning of the twentieth century, has stunning panoramic views over the historical centre of Sintra and is very comfortable and secluded. Perfect for relaxed holidays.
The spacious and bright living room has 3 sitting areas, a fireplace and opens onto to the terrace which has view and direct access to the garden and swimming pool. The living room has also access to the dining room with seat for 12 people, which has access to outside.
The Sintra Manor House has got one master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and access to terrace with panoramic views. There are six more bedrooms: 4 with double beds; 1 with 2 bunk beds and 1 with 2 bunk beds and 2 single beds. All bedrooms have beautiful green and Sintra views.
This Chalet has got a fully equipped kitchen and 2 smaller and practical kitchenettes, one on the ground floor, and another on the top floor.
The bottom floor of the house consists of a big studio, a kitchenette and a covered terrace. This “apartment” is to be used solely with the main house to ensure privacy.
The private swimming pool stands in the centre of the gardens, an area surrounded by lawn, secular trees and plentiful tropical species. Garden furniture is also available to enhance comfort.
Cleaning service is included twice a week, and entertainment is provided by cable TV and wifi internet access. Private parking for more than 4 cars is also available within the estate.

Location
Located near the historic centre of Sintra, the house affords total privacy, and is surrounded by dense arboreal hills. The area is part of the Sintra-Cascais National Park, where building is restricted and nature protected, with countryside stretching in all directions.
The beach is 10 km away.

Sintra
The historic centre of Sintra, 1km away, is unique and deserves its status as UNESCO World Heritage Site, for its cultural landscape. First the Moors, then the Portuguese kings who expelled them, built their castles and palaces there, all in unique style and flair. Later ages brought rich foreigners who created villas and palaces with lush gardens and romantic architecture – outdone by king Don Fernando, whose bizarre palace anticipated mad King Ludwig’s Rhine castles by several years.
The location is ideal for exploring not just Sintra but central Portugal. Lisbon is 40 minutes by car, and Cascais and Estoril are 30 minutes away. Famous Ericeira beach is close by. Further afield: in easy day trips from Sintra, you can visit the walled city of Obidos, the Knights’ templar castle of Tomar, and Batalha Abbey, the monastery palace of Mafra, the seaside town of Sesimbra, Ericeira, Palmela castle and Arrabida national park.
In the summer, an electric tram that goes regularly from Sintra to Praia das Maçãs.
Praia das Maçãs and Praia Grande
If you’re in a romantic mood as you travel to the beach, you can catch a hundred-year-old tram in Sintra that will take you to Praia das Maçãs through some fascinating countryside. The golden sand, clear sea and restaurants on the small cliff all combine to ensure a pleasant day out.
Hip Praia Grande is less than one km South of Praia das Maças, and is a hot summer spot for surfing conoisseurs.
Gastronomy and wine tasting
Sintra is famed for its ‘queijadas’ and local wines from Colares. Local restaurants are both good and inexpensive. Wineries can be visited in person or as part of an organised tour.
Getting there and around
The Sintra Manor House is reached from Lisbon airport in under 40 minutes.
Easy and efficient public transport is available within the area, but we recommend a car to make the most out of your holiday, as there is much to explore within the area.
