Cascais Local Beach

Villa Santa Maria Beach – Surface area : 600 m2, Outside area: 400 m2
A large spacious and airy villa, designed to follow the classical lines of Portuguese architecture, Villa Santa Maria Beach extends over 4 floors and can comfortably fit up to 20 people.

The communal areas are on the ground floor. There is a very spacious living and dining area with 2 fireplaces – enchanting focal points in colder nights – although the house has central heating. The “L” shaped living area creates two seating areas for up to 18 people, and can be separated from the dining area by glass doors . The living areas open up onto a sunny porch. The fully equipped kitchen is very spacious and has a large breakfast area. There is also a guest toilet on this floor.

At the back of the ground floor there is a cozy terrace with direct access to the kitchen and the patio.

Steps lead to the first floor where 3 bedrooms are situated. There are two bathrooms on this floor, one of which is en-suite. There is also a 10m2 balcony located on this floor.

On the second floor there are 2 further bedrooms, a large living area and a spacious bathroom. The living area is quite private and has 2 more single beds and 1 double bed.

For larger groups, we have 2 more bedrooms on the lower floor and a shower room. There is an old cellar on this floor with a table football.

The villa has a great patio with barbecue and garden furniture. A perfect space for your “al fresco” meals.
In the summer months, the villa maintains a cool temperature; in the winter the central heating and the 2 fireplaces provide all the comfort required.

The villa has private parking.

The local sandy beach of S. João do Estoril, reached in 3 minutes by foot provides every amenity such as sunbeds and parasols; further along the coast you can find other beaches, numerous restaurants and cafés on the adjacent promenade.

NOTE: The house is in a street with some noise, and although it is very well insulated, car noise is heard at the front part of the house when the windows are open.
Please note the garden floor is closed for parties of less than 12 people.

Location
Located in the elegant area of S. João do Estoril in the Cascais area, within a 3 minute walk of one of the many local sandy beaches, and 2km from the centre of Cascais. Lisbon is easily reached by the pleasant coastal train ride in 20 minutes, or by car (20km). Sintra is a bus ride away.

Estoril became famous during the Second World War as a safe haven for the nobility and spies. The beautiful villas and their architecture, of which Villa Santa Maria Beach is part, remain from this era. Its micro climate continues to attract tourists all year round, hot in the summer and mild in winter.

The Estoril Casino is a favourite attraction and the yearly summer arts and crafts fair is also walking distance from the Villa.

The Cascais Marina, with its boats, restaurants and buzzing night-life is a 10 minutes drive away.

Everything is within easy walking distance.

Cascais
The charming, historic town centre of Cascais is a pleasant 15 minutes stroll along the sea promenade, the famous “paredão”, or 10 minutes by local bus or car. There is plenty to visit of historic interest as well as restaurants, nightlife, cultural events, cinemas with films in English and shopping.

Golf Details
Portugal is a paradise where the golfer can play almost every day of the year. Each course offers new and surprising landscapes, backed up by excellent services and facilities. Internationally renowned Estoril Golf course is a 5 minute drive.

There are 6 courses within an 8 km range, with plenty to offer beginner and advanced player alike. The Estoril Golf Club is 3km away.

Getting there and around
Less than two hours flight from most European cities and seven hours from New York, the villa can be reached by car from Lisbon Airport in 25 minutes via the A5 motorway or the more scenic road along the river towards Cascais.

The villa’s great location and transport links are so good that you can opt for a car free holiday.

There is a full variety of local shops and restaurants within walking distance. The pleasant coastal train connecting Lisbon and Cascais is within 5 minutes walk; the picturesque train ride along the Tagus river estuary to Lisbon takes 30 minutes. Taxis are close by or can be ordered.

Prices are quoted for up to 8 people. Maximum 23 people.
During peak season: normal turnover day is Saturday and surcharge may apply for rentals of less than 2 weeks.
Booking conditions: 20% minimum paid at time of booking and balance in cash on arrival.
Security Deposit: €500, refundable at end of stay.
