Gracefully nested in a beautiful valley of the Sintra mountains, the pleasant village of Malveira da Serra where Morada do Sol is situated, sits in the backdrop of the unique Guincho beach, 3 km away. Malveira da Serra is geared to welcoming surfers as it has a specialist surf shop with all the gear needed and dings repair, as well as bars and restaurants where surfers meet to share their experiences!

In a protected area and surrounded by mountains and dunes, Guincho is blessed all year round with consistent swells from the NorthWest, offering multiple breaks in the 800m long sandy beach, for around 350 days of surf a year. Expect glassy conditions in the morning, with frequent onshore winds in the afternoon, a delight for wind and kite surfers, who often consider Guincho a prime spot in Europe. On windier afternoons, surfers can take the world famous “Estrada do Cabo da Roca” across the mountains, and head to Praia Grande beach, deeper in the mountain range and a mere 15 minutes away, or just go along Cascais Coast where there are plenty of surf spots.

Cascais and Estoril areas are very similar to the San Diego Area in the US, in terms of waves and environment, urban area with lively lifestyle, diversity of beaches with average crowd, and waves ranging from waist high to well above overhead.
