The lovely holiday villa is located near the historic village of Vila Nogueira de Azeitão, where one can pursue different activities from wine tasting (the area’s main industry) to fine dining, scenic views and beautiful beaches.

Set within a beautiful pinewood, the villa is entered via a small but very pleasant and well kept private garden, decorated with a beautiful lemon tree, and a small vegetable garden.

From the very large entrance hall, guests are led to the cosy and sunny (South facing) living room, which opens onto the back garden and the pool area via large french doors. Entertainment is provided by the XL flat-screen TV set with cable and international channels, and wireless internet access.

Next to the living room, the very large kitchen divides into two distinct areas: the kitchen area, modern and fully equipped, has a small breakfast table; and the dining area, with a large extensible dining table for 12+.  The kitchen also opens onto the outdoor pool area.

Also accessed from the entrance hall are the three bedrooms. There are two large suites, each with a large double bed, full en-suite bathroom, pleasant garden views and a TV screen with international channels. The third bedroom has a double bedroom and direct access to the garden. The fourth bedroom has two single beds and the same pleasant green views. Accessed from both the entrance hall and the living room, a second living room can be screened off and put up as a fourth bedroom (only for parties of 7 and above – otherwise it is put up as living area). This bedroom opens onto the garden and pool area via french doors, and shares a shower room with the twin bedroom.

Outside, the garden is a very pleasant area to enjoy the unique Portuguese weather with family and friends. The large private swimming pool is 10*4 metres, and there are 6 deckchairs for added comfort and enjoyment. Underneath a nice porch by an annex, there is a large outdoor dining area and a fully equipped barbecue unit. Inside the annex guests will find a large lounging area, fitted with a billiards table and a double sofa bed.

All rooms have air-conditioning.

Easy parking is also available in the street in front of the house entrance.
Cleaning once a week is included in the price.

Location
The villa is located in Brejos de Azeitão, next to the Quinta do Perú Golf Club, near magnificent beaches, vineyards and historical sites.

The village is at the edge of the beautiful Arrabida National Park which stretches all the way to the coastline and beautiful beaches. The Park was established to protect the beautiful landscape and rich variety of wildlife, including eagles, wildcats and badgers.

Apart from Lisbon, 40km away, Setubal, Palmela and Sesimbra are easily reached, making the self-catering villa an ideal base for unforgettable daily excursions.

Azeitão, where the Villa is situated, is a lovely village chosen by the nobility to build their Palaces and Quintas, due to its beauty, climate and abundant fishing and game. Some of these Palaces can still be visited today together with the various vineyards.

There is much to do at a walking distance: restaurants, shops or visit the delights of Azeitão such as the wineries of José Maria da Fonseca.

Sesimbra,a short drive away, is a quaint fishing town, famous for its castle, beaches and beautiful sea front. Palmela has a towering very well preserved castle. Setubal has excellent fish restaurants by the sea front and a ferry to the nearby resort of Troia. Boat trips are organized to watch the dolphins living in the Sado estuary.

Beaches
10km away is one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, ‘Portinho da Arrabida’. A sheltered cove of white sand with pine trees as a backdrop, its quiet crystal clear waters are perfect for swimming and children, and are popular with divers for their colourful underwater life. Other sandy coves lie at the foot of the limestone cliffs. Praia da Figuerinha offers sport fishing, windsurfing and sailing, and has vast sand banks at low tide. For surfers, Praia das Bicas, near Aldeia do Meco, is a popular big wave spot in the Lisbon region.

Nautical sports
For diving, the local beach has of the most interesting diving in Portugal with its grottos and abundant marine life. Sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and rowing can all be practiced in the safe bay. Golf.

Gastronomy and wine tasting
The region of Azeitão is famed for its gastronomy. The local gastronomic festival is held from June to September. Fresh grilled fish is an inexpensive delight, among with several other delicacies, such as local cheeses or pastries. Five formal wine routes have been devised in the Setubal peninsula by the ‘Rota de Vinhos’ association, combining wine tasting with sightseeing, arts and nature.

Arrabida National Park
The mountains are ideal for walks, and organized excursions can be arranged with the local nature tour companies. In the National Park, mountain biking, fauna tours, and bird watching are organised. Orienteering, cycling tours, riding and aerial sports are available and provide new experiences for beginners and experienced alike.

Golf Information
Portugal is a paradise where the golfer can play every day of the year. Quinta do Peru Golf Club (http://www.golfquintadoperu.com/) is close to the villa. Other great golf courses are nearby, such as Aroeira I and II and Troia.

Getting there and around
2 hours flight from most European cities and 7 hours from New York, the Villa is reached by car from Lisbon Airport in 30 minutes. Faro airport is 2.5 hours.
A car is recommended to fully enjoy the many delights of the area.

Prices are quoted for up to 8 people. Add €100/week per additional person. Maximum 12 people.
During peak season: normal turnover day is Saturday and surcharge may apply for rentals of less than 2 weeks.
Booking conditions: 20% minimum paid at time of booking and balance on arrival in cash.
Security Deposit: €300, refundable at end of stay.
