Casa do Pinheiro is located near Marisol village, just outside Aroeira estate, 20km South of Lisbon. The self catering villa is set in a beautiful private garden of 2000 m² and affords plenty of privacy to its guests.

On the ground floor, the open plan living room has a seating area for 8 around a lovely fireplace, and is separated from the dining area and a desk area by a bookcase. Entertainment is provided by a large flat-screen TV set (with cable TV, international channels and Sports channels) DVD Player and hi-fi stereo system. The dining area has a table which seats comfortably 10. Light pours in, thanks to large french doors, which open onto the outdoor barbecue and dining areas, nearby the beautiful large private swimming pool.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has a breakfast area.

On the first floor, there are 2 bedrooms: one with a large double bed and the other with two single beds. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, a private terrace and a flat-screen TV set.
For added privacy, in a separate wing on the ground floor there is one bedroom with two single beds, and the children’s bedroom, which has one trunk bed (sleeping 2), and two single beds. Each bedroom has its own shower room and private patio. There is an additional fifth bedroom, with two single beds, on the ground floor, adjoining the children’s room and its bathroom. 

The private gardens can be accessed through the living areas, and boast a large outdoor dining area with a barbecue, as well as many lounging spots, perfect to soak up the sun and enjoy the calm. The large private swimming pool is 10*5m, and boasts a separate shallow water area, ensuring child safety. Please note the security fence around the swimming pool is no longer present.

The villa has many child friendly features such as children games, a trampoline and cots.

Next to the lounging area, there is a study room with a desk and TV set, multiple seating options and a round games table in which children can have lots of fun playing cards or boardgames, turning it into the perfect games room for either children or adults.

There is ample storage space and private secure parking for up to four cars.

Cleaning twice a week is included in the price.

Set in a magnificent pinewood, the Villa in Marisol offers a relaxing environment, contact with nature and easy access to golf courses. The wonderful private swimming pool delights everyone, and there are amazing beaches within a short drive.

Location
The villa is set within the tranquil village of Marisol, next to the Aroeira golf resort, just outside Fonte da Telha beaches. The centre of the village is 1km from the villa, so there are shops and a supermarket walking distance from the villa.

Marisol is a short drive to Portugal’s second largest shopping mall, Almada Forum, and Europe’s largest designer outlet. Being so close to Lisbon, it is easy to enjoy the culture, shopping and nightlife this lively European capital has to offer.
Azeitão, Palmela, Sesimbra and Setubal are closer still, making this self-catering villa an ideal base for unforgettable daily excursions. Azeitao is really a series of picturesque villages with noble houses and vineyards. Palmela has a towering well preserved castle. Sesimbra is a charming fishing port and resort, famous for its castle, beach and sea front restaurants. Setubal also has excellent fish restaurants by the harbour and a ferry to the nearby resort of Troia. Boat trips are organized to watch the dolphins living in the Sado estuary.

On the way to Lisbon is Cristo Rei, an imposing stone figure of Christ worth a visit for the breathtaking view over the Tagus to the city.

Beaches
The beautiful sandy beach of Fonte da Telha is a 5 minute drive away, and is part of the famous Costa da Caparica, a 30km coastal area of sandy beaches which extends as far as Cabo Espichel. For several kilometres the beaches are all connected, offering a wide variety of ambiance and style. Enjoy lovely walks by the sea for several kilometres of uninterrupted sand. The majority of these beaches has lifeguards during the summer months, car parking, restaurants and bars. A small open, tourist train connects the many beaches along a 10km stretch of the Caparica coast during the summer.

Apart from Caparica…
10km away is one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, ‘Portinho de Arrabida’. A sheltered cove of white sand with pine trees as a backdrop, its quiet crystal clear waters are perfect for swimming, particularly for children, and are popular with divers for their colourful underwater life. Other sandy coves lie at the foot of the limestone cliffs. Praia da Figuerinha offers sport fishing, windsurfing and sailing, and has vast sand banks at low tide.

Water sports
For diving, Portinho beach has some of the most interesting diving in Portugal with its grottos and abundant marine life. Sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and rowing can all be enjoyed in this safe bay.

Gastronomy and wine tasting
The region is famed for its gastronomy. Fresh grilled fish is an inexpensive delight. Five formal wine routes have been devised in the Setubal peninsula by the ‘Rota de Vinhos’ association, combining wine tasting with sightseeing, arts and nature.

Arrabida National Park
The nearby Park was established to protect the beautiful landscape and rich variety of wildlife, including eagles, wildcats and badgers. The mountains are ideal for walks, and organized excursions can be arranged with the local nature tour companies. In the National Park, mountain biking, fauna tours, and bird watching are organised. Orienteering, cycling tours, riding and aerial sports are available and provide new experiences for beginners and experienced alike.

Golf information
There are two 18-hole championship golf courses (by architects Frank Pennink and Donald Steel) in nearby Aroeira Resort: boasting a golf school, a friendly clubhouse with restaurant, snack-bar, bar and golf shop, four tennis courts, a playground, and a shopping mall with a cafe, spa and hairdresser, supermarket, pharmacy, laundry, travel agent and ATM machine.

For a change, Quinta do Peru Golf is a short drive away and other courses are nearby, such as Aldeia dos Capuchos, Montado or Troia.

Getting there and around
2 hour flight from most European cities and 7 hours from New York, the villa is reached by car from Lisbon airport in 30 minutes. Faro airport is 2.5 hours away.
A car is recommended to fully enjoy the many delights of the area.

Prices are quoted for up to 8 people. Add € 100/week for each additional guest. Maximum 12 people.
During peak season: normal turnover day is Saturday and surcharge may apply for rentals of less than 2 weeks.
Booking conditions: 20% minimum paid at time of booking, further 40% 2 months before arrival, and balance on arrival in cash.
Security Deposit: €300, refundable at end of stay.
