Jasmin house

Jasmin is a cosy one floor house where much effort has been put into the small details. It has one to two bedrooms available depending on the size of the group. One is a double and the other a twin bedroom. There is a shower room, a reception room with kitchenette and a private patio with furniture and a barbecue. Jasmin and Geranium can combine as one unit, ‘Villa Sintra’, for parties of up to 12 people when rented as a whole.
Entering from the private patio, the reception room has a well equipped kitchen and a small eating area with table and chairs. The views from this room to the National Park and the sea are wonderful and relaxing. The reception room gives on to both bedrooms. The double bedroom is bright and looking out over the valley. The optional twin bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe. The shower room is directly accessible from the two bedrooms.
There is a ball games area and swings in the garden. Guests have full access to the covered swimming pool, about 100 meters away.
What make this house extra special is the large 5000m2 garden and the stunning views to the sea. Although part of the garden and the swimming pool are shared, the private patio is ideal for lovely meals and restful moments, surrounded by peaceful nature.

Location
The house is ideally situated in a rural setting, at the foot of the Sintra hills, 3km from beautiful Guincho beach and 6km from cosmopolitan Cascais and Estoril. This is a perfect location for nature lovers, being in the Sintra-Cascais protected National Park where building is very restricted. There is good walking, with an abundance of wild flowers, birds and animals. Yet the motorway is only 4km away, making Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra accessible in under 30 minutes.The restful view looks down a green and unspoilt valley with the sea in the distance in on one side, and the mystical Sintra mountains on the other.With a large swimming pool, beautiful grounds in a 5000m2 private estate, close to the beach and the many attractions of Cascais, Lisbon and Sintra, this house offers an ideal setting for a perfect holiday. Extended in 2011, the property provides you with peace and privacy amongst the beauty and tranquility of nature, but with all you might want close by. The large, covered pool means the water is warm enough for you to swim from April to November; sliding doors allow you to catch a cooling breeze in the hot summer months. The extensive gardens and outdoor games area can be enjoyed all year round – as can the sauna and massages (supplement charged).

The village of Malveira da Serra is less than five minutes walk away, with a range of shops and restaurants. The village retains its traditional charm as building is restricted, and has long been sought after due to the beauty of its setting, with the coast stretched out below, and the forest and mountains above.
Sintra, a world heritage site with its castle, palaces and gardens set in lush vegetation and enjoying ravishing views is a lovely 15 minute car drive across the mountain.
Locally, there is a huge choice of the latest films in their original language with over twenty screens in four local cinema complexes, reachable within 10 minutes, as are two attractive shopping centres. The summer brings international festivals; classical music and ballet in Sintra, jazz in Estoril, and fireworks in Cascais.

Less far in the other direction is the coastal resort of Cascais, where you will find superb beaches, restaurants, night-life and shopping, as well as a charming old town with rewarding site-seeing.
Lisbon is half an hour away, and with easy access to the motorway system, a number of other world class cultural and historic sites make an enjoyable day trip. Lisbon boasts world heritage sites, and a rich cultural, culinary and night life.
The motorway network puts the Knights Templars’ castle and chapels at Tomar and Batalha within an easy day trip, as well as the ancient university town of Coimbra.

Beaches
Guincho beach, world renowned for its beauty and surfing, is three kilometres away. Many other sandy beaches are close by, each with its individual character. Less than half an hour’s drive north along the coast several beaches are well worth exploring, as are some excellent fish restaurants.

Golf
Six of Portugal’s best golf courses are within a 15 minute drive, offering new and surprising landscapes, along with first class services and facilities. Portugal is a golfer’s paradise where it is possible to play almost every day of the year, with plenty to offer both beginners and advanced players.

Weather
Portugal is a year round destination. Hot and sunny in the summer, with a refreshing breeze off the sea; windier months are July and August; Spring and Autumn are mild, ideal for sightseeing. Rainy days can occur in winter, but it is rarely cold.

Getting there and around
Less than two hours flight from most European cities and seven hours from New York, the house can be reached by car or taxi from Lisbon Airport in 30-40 minutes.

Located in the protected national park of Cascais-Sintra, the property is only 4km from the motorway and so half an hour from Lisbon and its cultural attactions and night life. Taxis are available and cheap, and there is an efficient bus system from the village to Cascais and Sintra; but to get the best out of your holiday we advise car hire, as there is so much to see which is not accessible by public transport.

Prices are quoted for up to 2 people. Add €100/week per additional person. Max. 4 people.
During peak season: normal turnover day is Saturday and surcharge may apply for rentals of less than 2 weeks.
Booking conditions: 20% minimum paid at time of booking and balance 2 months before arrival.
Final cleaning charge of €10 per person.
Security Deposit: €150, due 1 month in advance via paypal or credit card and refundable at end of stay.
Prices do not include Tourist Tax charged by Cascais Municipality.
