The Gandarinha Holiday Apartment is located in a private luxury condominium in one of the best residential areas of Cascais: Jardins da Gandarinha, facing the Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean pine trees.

The apartment is situated on the second floor, with direct lift access from the ground floor, and from the garage. The beautiful vacation apartment in Cascais is decorated with flair, with many design custom pieces. The whole apartment is very quiet.

The entrance hall leads to the large living areas. Light pours in from the large French doors, and the beautiful stone floor contributes to a sophisticated and cool atmosphere.

The elegant living room has a generous sitting area with separate dining area, and boasts spectacular panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Entertainment is provided by the large flat-screen TV set with cable TV, DVD player and stereo. The living room opens onto a lovely terrace, boasting amazing blue and green views. The terrace has an outdoor dining table, the ideal place for “al-fresco” meals, with splendid Ocean views.

Across the hall from the living room, is a fully equipped Miele kitchen, with a separate breakfast area, and laundry room at the back.

The two bedrooms are at the far end of the apartment. On the right side from the corridor, the main bedroom, also facing the sea, features a large double bed (can be separated to make 2 single beds), desk area and it has an en-suite bathroom. The second twin bedroom boasts pleasant green views over the Gandarinha pinewood area. Both bedrooms have ample storage space and built-in cupboards.

Outside, the beautifully landscaped gardens offer pleasant spots to read a book, between colorful plants and a pond with a bridge. Beyond the gardens, the large shared swimming pool is surrounded by lawn and deckchairs, which are available for the usage of guests. Additionally, there is a second and smaller swimming pool with shallow water, which is ideal for children; and a well equipped full size tennis court. The private condominium features 24h security and surveillance, and the concierge will be happy to assist you with local tips during your stay. The pools are never crowded, and please note this being a luxury condominium, its rules and peaceful environment need to be respected.

Location

Within walking distance of the centre of Cascais and all its amenities, the apartment is situated in the very sought after Guia residential area in Cascais, a short walk from Casa da Guia and its magnificent cliff-top restaurants.
The charming, historic town centre of Cascais is a pleasant 20 minutes stroll, or 3 minutes by car. There is plenty to visit such as restaurants, nightlife, cultural events, cinemas with films in English and shopping. This property is ideally situated for those wanting to take a break with plenty to do but without having to rent a car.

Guincho Beach

Hip and famous Guincho Beach, world renowned for its natural beauty and surfing, is a quick 5 minute drive away, along a spectacular scenic road, where once drove the world’s most popular spy. You can go there by car, walking or cycling through a promenade created for this purpose willfully, it is a very pleasant stroll of 25 minutes. This is a perfect beach for water sports such as surf, kitesurf and windsurf.

Cascais local Beaches

There is a long stretch of beaches in Cascais, each with its individual character and charm. Most beaches provide amenities such as sunbeds and parasols, and there are numerous restaurants and cafés on the adjacent promenade “Paredão”. Several beaches less than half an hour’s drive North along the coast are well worth exploring, as are some excellent fish restaurants.

Cascais is also close to the romantic world heritage town of Sintra and half an hour from the centre of Lisbon.

Golf Details

Portugal is a paradise where the golfer can play almost every day of the year. Every course offers new and surprising landscapes, backed up by excellent services and facilities.
There are six courses within an 8 km range, with plenty to offer beginner and advanced players.

Getting there and around

Less than two hours flight from most European cities and seven hours from New York, the apartment can be reached by car or taxi from Lisbon Airport in 30 minutes via the A5 motorway or the more scenic road along the river to Cascais.
The apartment is so well situated and transport is so good that you can opt for a car free holiday. The local bus will take you to the centre of Cascais in under 5 minutes and to Guincho beach in the other.
Cascais train station is at a 30 minute walk and the picturesque train ride along the Tagus river estuary to Lisbon takes about 40 minutes. There is a full variety of local shops and restaurants within walking distance. Taxis are close by or can be ordered.
