This cosy holiday villa is located near the Maça and Cotovia villages, near (5 minute drive) the resort town of Sesimbra, with its beautiful South facing hot and sunny beaches. The historic town of Azeitão, where one can pursue different activities from wine tasting (the area’s main industry) to fine dining and scenic views, is also a quick drive away.

Set within a beautiful and calm area, overlooking the Sesimbra countryside, the villa is entered via a very pleasant and well kept private garden.

From the entrance hall, guests are led to the cosy and sunny (South facing) living room, which opens onto the back garden and the pool area. Entertainment is provided by the flat-screen TV set with cable and international channels, and wireless internet access.

The living room connects to the fully equipped kitchen, which also opens onto the front garden.

Located to the right from the entrance hall, all 4 bedrooms offer pleasant green views of the private garden or the poolside. Two of the bedrooms actually open onto the gardens via french doors. One of the bedrooms has a large double bed, and each of the remaining three bedrooms is equipped with two single beds. Thanks to its solar exposure, daylight pours indoors from every angle, making the Sesimbra Holiday Villa a very welcoming holiday home. Two fully equipped bathrooms are located near the bedroom areas.

Outside, the large private garden is such a pleasant area to enjoy the unique Portuguese weather with family and friends. The large private swimming pool is 10*4 metres, and there are deckchairs for added comfort and enjoyment. Underneath a nice porch, there is an outdoor dining area and a fully equipped barbecue unit.

Easy parking is available in the street in front of the house entrance, which is located at the end of a cul de sac, in a secure and quiet environment, only a short drive from busy Sesimbra.
Cleaning once a week is included in the price.

Location
The villa is located in Maça Village, next to charming Cotovia, right at the entrance of Sesimbra. The villa is 4km from the centre of Sesimbra, and its beautiful South facing beaches, with Troia Peninsula in the distance. Sesimbra is an ideal resort town: great seafood restaurants, lifestyle, natural attractions, watersports and a cheerful Portuguese welcome.

The village is at the edge of the beautiful Arrabida National Park, which stretches all the way to the coastline and beautiful beaches. The Park was established to protect the beautiful landscape and rich variety of wildlife, including eagles, wildcats and badgers.

Apart from Lisbon, 40km away, Setubal, Palmela and Troia are easily reached, making the self-catering villa an ideal base for unforgettable daily excursions.

Azeitão, a ten minute drive away, is a lovely village chosen by the nobility to build their Palaces and Quintas, due to its beauty, climate and abundant fishing and game. Some of these Palaces can still be visited today together with the various vineyards.
Fine dining, shopping or tasting the delights at the wineries of José Maria da Fonseca are some of the things you can do in Azeitão.

Palmela has a towering very well preserved castle, boasting a beautiful panorama of the busy city of Setubal, facing posh Troia Resort on the South bank of the Sado Estuary. Setubal has excellent fish restaurants by the sea front, and a ferry to the nearby resort of Troia. Boat trips are organized to watch the dolphins living in the Sado estuary, which are unique in Europe.

Beaches
10km away is one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, ‘Portinho da Arrabida’. A sheltered cove of white sand with pine trees as a backdrop, its quiet crystal clear waters are perfect for swimming and children, and are popular with divers for their colourful underwater life. Other sandy coves lie at the foot of the limestone cliffs. Praia da Figuerinha offers sport fishing, windsurfing and sailing, and has vast sand banks at low tide. For surfers, Praia das Bicas, near Aldeia do Meco, is a popular big wave spot in the Lisbon region.

Nautical sports
For diving, the local beach has of the most interesting diving in Portugal with its grottos and abundant marine life. Sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and rowing can all be practiced in the safe bay. Golf.

Gastronomy and wine tasting
The region of Azeitão is famed for its gastronomy. The local gastronomic festival is held from June to September. Fresh grilled fish is an inexpensive delight, among with several other delicacies, such as local cheeses or pastries. Five formal wine routes have been devised in the Setubal peninsula by the ‘Rota de Vinhos’ association, combining wine tasting with sightseeing, arts and nature.

Arrabida National Park
The mountains are ideal for walks, and organized excursions can be arranged with the local nature tour companies. In the National Park, mountain biking, fauna tours, and bird watching are organised. Orienteering, cycling tours, riding and aerial sports are available and provide new experiences for beginners and experienced alike.

Golf Information
Portugal is a paradise where the golfer can play every day of the year. Quinta do Peru Golf Club (http://www.golfquintadoperu.com/) is close to the villa. Other great golf courses are nearby, such as Aroeira I and II and Troia.

Getting there and around
2 hours flight from most European cities and 7 hours from New York, the Villa is reached by car from Lisbon Airport in 1 hour. Faro airport is 2.5 hours.
A car is recommended to fully enjoy the many delights of the area.

Prices are quoted for up to 8 people.
During peak season: normal turnover day is Saturday and surcharge may apply for rentals of less than 2 weeks.
Booking conditions: 20% minimum paid at time of booking, further 40% two months before arrival, and balance in cash on arrival.
Security Deposit: €400, refundable at end of stay.
